SAFE AT HOME MANITOBA
SAFE AT HOME MANITOBA!
RACC was recently awarded a grant for a new program Manitoba has initiated called “Safe At Home”, created to help Manitobans enjoy active, engaged lives during a period of critical level restrictions in our communities.
The grant supports Manitobans wanting to participate in creative, fun and engaging activities throughout the winter, while staying safe! From online events like 'Paint and Popcorn Night' to take home activity kits; from neighbourhood collaborations to 'how to videos' and challenges. The sky is the limit! Sport. Arts. Culture. Health and Wellness. Outreach. Kindness. Caring.
Check out our cooking/nutrition demo videos with Maureen Cooper who will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition in 2021.

FESTIVAL DU VOYAGEUR OUTDOOR SCAVENGER HUNT
He Ho Voyageurs!
If you are looking to get outside this weekend and explore nature, Brayden and Chantal can help....
We have posted a informative outdoor scavenger hunt in spirit of Festival du Voyageur!
It starts at Baltimore Rd and continues down Churchill Dr towards the Tot Lot.
“Let’s journey back to the 1680’s and portage along a fur trade route through the Hudson Bay. (CHURCHILL DRIVE TRAIL),
Find 10 important voyageur items along the way.
Photos are posted on trees throughout your route,
along with a clue that will follow suit.
There’s no sense in rushing, if you stop and read it,
you might just learn something!”
RIVERVIEW ICE SCULPTURES
During our daycare walks we have noticed some amazing ice sculptures that our Riverview neighbours have made and displayed! This inspired us to contact our local ice sculptor, John Wade who has made 4 beautiful ice sculptures to place around Riverview for our neighbours.
All of our sculptures will be up by Monday, March 01st so take a stroll through the neighbourhood next week, enjoy the beautiful weather and take in all the amazing ice sculptures around Riverview – before they melt!
Brayden and the children will also be creating some snow sculptures in the tennis courts next week (if there is any snow left)!
Daycare Ice Sculpture locations:
Riverview Health Centre
Riverview C.C. & RACC daycare
corner of Mabel & Baltimore Rd
corner of Casey & Bartlet Ave
We have placed the sculptures on private property to deter vandalism. Please remember to stay off our neighbour's yards (take your pictures from the sidewalk).
Share any ice sculpture photos for a chance to win 1 of 4 $25 Black Market gift cards by posting it on your personal instagram, twitter or Facebook and use #warmir and tag Riverview Community Centre!
John Wade has a website that showcases all of his amazing work at johnwadeicesculptures.ca
